PSHE and Relationships & Sex education

We want our children to make informed choices about the risks they face in life. They will focus on the key building blocks of healthy, respectful relationships, focussing on family and relationships in all contexts, including online. This sits alongside the essential understanding of how to be healthy. Children will be taught in a safe, open, respectful environment and encouraged to take part in discussions that enable them to explore their place in the world and how they interact with others.

From September 2020 all primary school children will be taught about Relationships and Sex  Education (RSE) and Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE). Please click on the documents below to find the details of how we teach this to our children at Coton -in-the-Elms Primary.

As part of our safeguarding procedures, children across the school will learn scientific names of body parts to empower them to make accurate disclosures should these be required. The following resource, supports children in understanding the importance of privacy and keeping themselves safe.
