Online safety

The education system is enriched with the use of technology. There are many advantages to using online resources in the classroom, however this needs to be balanced with caution and knowledge of the risks and disadvantages. The government recognises how many parents feel concerned about the activities and content their children are accessing. This guidance outlines resources to help keep children safe from different risks online and where to go to get support and advice. At Coton, our computing curriculum weaves in opportunities to work online and to learn how to stay safe. We also have a long term plan overview, which highlights ways in which staff can further teach online safety. This is an additional lesson beyond the computing curriculum. Our online safety overview can be viewed below along with our online safety policy.
