Ever wondered how we teach phonics in school?
Fancy a chance to see how it all works?
As you will probably be aware, this year we are having a whole school focus on the teaching of phonics. In Key Stage 1 and EYFS, at 10:45 every day, is it Phonics Time. The whole Key Stage is grouped by ability and taught according to their stage of development within phonics.
On Wednesday this week (1st November @ 10:30 am), Mrs Smith will be leading a viewing session for any parents and carers who are interested. This will be particularly useful for parents of children in Year 1 as these children will be completing the National Phonics Screening Check in June next year. The session will include:
- Useful information about how Phonics is taught and the content of the curriculum
- A demo lesson with a small group of children
- Practical steps that you can take to support your child at home
We hope to see you there – Wednesday this week – 10:30 am
