Over the last couple of weeks we have had a couple of fundraising events in school; first our Infant and Junior disco and then only last night, our Easter bingo.
We are pleased to say that we raised an amazing £533.60 profit across the two events, which is fantastic. A huge thank you goes out to all the parents who came along to help, participate or who donated prizes – THANK YOU.
Although this is a great amount raised, if we put this into context, it will fund on average 1.75 coaches for school trips. When most classes have a school trip each, this amount doesn’t go far, which is why we need to support these events.
The FPTA support our school where possible to try and keep costs down for parents: here are a couple of recent examples from this month alone:
The Roman Day which the Curious Caterpillars enjoyed recently, without being subsidised by FPTA, would have cost the children £9.50 each – as it was, it only cost each child £3.
The KS2 Theatre Trip to watch a professional production of Annie, would have cost £27.30 per child. Through group booking options and again being subsidised heavily by the FPTA, it is only costing the children £13 each.
Our FPTA can only continue to support activities like this if you support them.
If you can help by doing one small job, or by donating your time or sourcing raffle prizes etc, no matter how you can help, it would make a huge difference. As the saying goes, ‘many hands make light work’.
