CHILDREN IN NEED 2019

Pudsey BearThis year, to support the charity Children in Need, we are having a Pyjama Day at Coton-in-the-Elms Primary School on Friday, 15th November 2019.

Children can come in their PJ’s for a donation of £1 for this great cause.

YOUNG VOICES 2020

Young VoicesFor those children who have signed up for the Young Voices concert, you will be pleased to hear that your child can practice at home too!

On Thursday of this week, we will be having a ‘wear something yellow’ day in support of the children’s mental health charity Young Minds.

ANTI-BULLYING CHARTER

If you’ve been in to school, you will have seen our Anti-bullying Charter and posters of our Anti-bullying Superheroes around the classrooms and other spaces. 
 
A useful guide - front coverEvery year, the children are asked to sign up to the Charter and what it represents and it was the theme of today’s assembly with Mr Smith.
 
As part of our Anti-bullying activities, a useful guide has been created for pupils and their parents – this will be coming home with your child today.

FLU VACCINATIONS

This year, the NHS Immunisation Team are offering Flu vaccinations to all children in primary school, from Reception through to Year 6.

Also from this year, consent is to be given electronically – please see the correspondence below and follow the links accordingly.

PLEASE ENSURE CONSENT IS COMPLETED BY NO LATER THAN
THURSDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2019

Primary Flu Programme 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

From September 2019 we will be using e-consent for the Flu programme.  This year we are vaccinating children in Reception, Year 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Please click https://www.derbyshireandcityimms.co.uk/ and click on the Seasonal Flu icon to complete the consent form, the option to consent or decline the vaccination is at the end of the questionnaire so please complete even if you do not want your child to have the vaccination.

NEW DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

photographer2cropWe have a school photographer coming in to take the annual  individual pupil photographs together with photographs of siblings on:

FRIDAY, 18th OCTOBER 2019

If pupils have pre-school siblings, then please bring them along at 8.30am to have their picture taken with their brothers and/or sisters.

Where all siblings are already in our school, these photographs will be taken during school time.

Young Voices 2020!

Young VoicesWe are pleased to announce that we will be taking part in the Young Voices concert again this academic year. Our concert date is Wednesday, 15th January 2020.  This is an amazing opportunity for the children to be part of a choir concert – for both the children taking part and the parents going to watch, it is like a big pop concert – an amazing experience for our children.
