In our current world of ever-evolving information technology it is important that we keep our children safe on-line as best we can. Some of you came along to the Back to School On-line Safety Workshops run by Ms Challinor last term. These sessions were very insightful not just for the children but for the parents as well. If you missed these, there is another session scheduled for 12th January 2017 at 7.30pm as we appreciate that parents can’t always get to the workshops during the day time.
In the meantime, there are various links on the ‘Keeping your child safe’ page of our website to help you understand and best protect your child.

As you are aware, we have another of our ‘back to school’ weeks next week, this time we will be looking at maths, with a ‘reasoning’ focus. These are informal sessions where parents sit with their child and do activities showing you how your child learns and the techniques we use in order for you to best help your child at home. It is interesting how teaching/learning techniques have changed and developed over the years but it is important that we try and use the same methods and terminology to help our children and not cause confusion.
The sessions for the week are as follows:
Monday, 28th November, 9.15 – 10.15am
Tuesday, 29th November, 9.15 – 10.15am
Wednesday, 30th November, 9.15 – 10.15am
Thursday, 1st December, 9.15 – 10.15am
Friday, 2nd December, 9.15 – 10.15am
* This will be instead of the ‘fly on the wall’ session for next week only.
We understand that it is sometimes difficult for working parents to get in to school but if there is someone else who supports your child with learning, for example a grandparent, they are welcome to come along instead or as well as yourself.
Following the recent ballot for the roles of Parent Governor, we have pleasure in announcing the successfully elected candidates:
We wish them well as they start their venture as Governors of our school.
As you are aware, our KS2 children will be joining hundreds of other schools in the mass choir to sing at Young Voices 2017. This is an amazing opportunity for the children and those that have been in previous years have thoroughly enjoyed themselves – it’s like being at a pop concert!
To support the children in getting performance ready, you can download the Young Voices app, which has all the music resources on for the children to sing along to. Just follow the link below to download the app.
