Information for after school clubs for the final term of this academic year has now been added to the website and can be booked on the School Money site.
New clubs for this term include Baking Club for years 1 and 2. Baking club has filled up very quickly in the past so don’t delay if you would like to book your child a place.
FPTA are also running Popcorn Club, which is open to the whole school including Reception. Films being shown include The Emoji Movie, Sing, Despicable Me 3, Moana and the Lego Batman Movie. Dates for each film can be viewed on the School Money booking and payment system.
At the start of last term, we reviewed the Multi-Sports club and decided to focus on one sport for each half term. We’ve just finished 6 weeks of Tennis and feedback from the children suggests it worked well, so this half term the focus will be on Tri Golf.
Wednesday last week saw the school hall filled with rabbits, chicks, lambs, bumble bees and butterflies as well as the odd planet, troll, minion and hot air balloon! The teachers and staff at school were overwhelmed by the amount of thought and effort that had gone into the Easter bonnets. From the traditional to the more innovative designs, they all showed off the children’s creativity and we welcomed Spring in style. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who helped to make the competition so difficult to judge! Mr Smith found it so hard to choose a winner that he decided to let the children vote for their favourite bonnets.
Congratulations to our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 winners Amber and Bailey-Rae – don’t eat your prizes all at once!
On Monday this week, parents of Year 2 children were invited to attend a workshop with Mrs Christie about the KS1 SATS that all Year 2 children are required to sit at the end of the school year. Following the success of last year’s KS1 SATS workshop, we wanted to continue to enable parents to understand the process and the school’s approach, and how they can support their children at home.
The event was well attended and feedback from parents suggested that they found it helpful. For those that weren’t able to attend, here are the slides from the presentation for your information.
