As part of the Key Stage 1 topic for this half term, the children are studying Africa.
Today we held a special Africa Day where the children dressed up in safari / animal costumes and also got the chance to meet some African animals.
To say the children were excited about meeting the animals is an understatement. They got to see or touch/hold the following creatures:
African Pygmy Hedgehog (African four-toed Hedgehog)
Giant African Snail
Sand Boa Snake
Duprasi (fat-tailed Gerbil)
Lesser Tenrec (little Hedgehog)
The meerkats definitely proved to be the most popular amongst all the children!
This afternoon, the children have been having fun creating different kids of African art too.
